7 things that successful people do before 8 a.m.

Good Morning

I thought about you! God woke me up and the first person he had me think about was YOU!

What will make you better today than what you were yesterday. That was my thought after being the last person to go to sleep, but being the first person awake, gives you a different perspective. I wanted to tell YOU that YOU ARE LOVED! I wanted to share with you some of the things that I do before 8 am.

It will be IMPORTANT TO YOU! It will make your day better.

1. Pray

My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life, and it keeps me sane, and mentally ready for anything that could happen today. Why you may ask? It does. My brain says we are here for a bigger purpose than to just serve ourselves. We are here to build the kingdom, so I pray for everyone, and if there are specific people on my heart, or my prayer wall, I do so.

2. Boost My Metabolism, and my Attitude

I drink a freshly squeezed lemon and a glass of water. Its super strong, and the best shot you could ever take! Drinking lemon water, or lemon and water as soon as you wake up it spikes your energy levels. Mentally and Physically it pushes you, it improves the nutrient absorption in your stomach. I do this on an empty stomach.

3. Exercise (pray over it.. I know, I don’t feel like doing it either)

Research shows that getting your body moving for even 10 minutes in the morning keeps your brain calm (we all know I need this) and keeps you in control of your impulses. You will have more energy, and you will have a more positive outlook on your day

4. Stay off the Grid: DISCONNECT

I ALREADY HAVE A.D.D. sometimes when you wake up and jump into “working”, like emails or social media it forces you to lose focus and you’re a scatter brain. Scrolling through people’s lives is not focused, you’re all over the place. Going from bananas, to babies, to news, positives to negatives is an emotional roller coaster. It’s way healthier to enjoy the most precious moments of the day to reflect, or do something positive for yourself, it will set the tone of the day. Quiet time is AMAZEBALLZ!

5. Eat a healthy breakfast

It can be simple. If you eat breakfast you will be ahead of a lot of folks. Studies say that people that eat breakfast are less likely to be obese, they have a more stable blood-sugar levels, and it makes you less hungry throughout the day, and that’s just for people who “eat” breakfast. What if it’s an amazingly healthy breakfast. You will give yourself energy, help with short term memory, and it makes you concentrate better for a longer time span!

6. Planning

Set realistic goals for the day, and make sure that they are realistic. I make a schedule for my week EVERY SUNDAY, faithfully! I carry highlighters and a pen with me ALWAYS. Failing to plan is Planning to FAIL! PERIOD! Keeping a daily to do list to keep you on track, setting alarms, in your calendar and on your phone saves lives and time. Time is the most valuable thing that we have and we all get the same 24 hours in a day, it’s all about how you use it.

Just think when you set goals, and you achieve them, it makes you wayyy more positive and productive! It gives you a sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT. So, make realistic, specific goals. As I meet goals, or finish things on my to do list, I highlight them so I can see if I’m getting things done, or wasting a bunch of time.

7. The Power of No

The simplest two letter word is sometimes the hardest thing for us as humans to say, but NO, IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE! It’s absolutely to say No… to kids, family, friends, coworkers, and other humans period. It’s just like when you get on an airplane, and the stewardess gives you the “mask” speech. It tells you to SAVE YOURSELF, BEFORE YOU CAN SAVE OTHERS! The word NO, saves lives. Unapologetically saying NO, is ok. You can’t be everything to everybody. You can’t DO EVERYTHING FOR EVERYBODY!!! Focus on things that are going to help you complete your tasks, ask is it going to make you better, or push you into a trap. It is OK…. TO …..JUST… SAY… NO!

Now, I wrote this at about 5 a.m. this morning JUST FOR YOU! So clearly you were supposed to read this, you were supposed to let this settle right into your spirit.

So I hope you have ridiculously productive day, and I hope YOU GET BETTER TODAY!

That’s my goal!

Tell me what’s yours!
