STOP!!! Go to Your Seasoning Cabinet Right Now and Throw this OUT!!!
Meal Preps Are Here! Are you Ready?
The most asked question in the Cooking with Que inbox..... Do you have Meal Preps! Literally.
I had to take the time to determine what would work because I didn't want to be another "Box" service with food that will last for 7-10 days! That's absolutely ridiculous to me. Like what fresh food do you get out of a garden... and it lasts you for that long! GET OUTTA HERE!
My brain says, if something is supposed to be fresh, you should have to go get another batch sooner than later. I grocery shop a couple times per week. Fresh Kale... Spinach.. Tomatoes those items when they are truly fresh.. don't last for 2 weeks fam! So I wanted to figure out how to make this beneficial for everyone involved. Vegans and Meat Eaters alike. So all my local peeps will have access to pick up or delivery options. I only have spots for 10 Out of State peeps, to let me know how they like getting food every 3-4 days.
Is Your Salmon Safe?
The fish industry, Salmon in particular, is facing an increase in parasites ... worms ... in this case - Sea Lice. Note that Sea Lice IS naturally present in Wild Caught Salmon, however it is thriving heavily in the Farm Raised environment, so much, that it is disruptive.
This could mean that the fish that ends up on your plate has the parasite (that you would then ingest) or toxic chemicals will be used to "control" the Sea Lice (that you would then ingest).
If you choose to eat fish as apart of your diet, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL and PICKY in your selection and source of fish as you don't want parasites to choose you as their new home. As yucky or extreme as that may sound - it's the truth guys - and if you must, we suggest you purchase Wild Caught over Farm Raised - as the fish comes from it's natural environment.
Protect your temple and consider transitioning to a more plant-based diet.

I didn’t even want to share the recipe, but what’s a good thing if you can’t share it with friends?

Tradition or Not? Black Eye Peas for New Years
Can you believe the year is almost over? Wow! 2016 came and went! Everyone has been trying to figure out New Years Resolutions and since I'm a foodie I hear about party menus, and what everyone is cooking for New Years!
Black Eyed Peas (recipe here) are all over the place, for some its for good luck, for others it's tradition, so of course you know me I did my research to see where did the "luck" of Black Eye Peas come from. I was pretty shocked!

My Saturday Morning Go To – Redskins
Hey Family 🙂
This is a super simple recipe that can be used for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. In our house, Saturday mornings this is the go to.
Redskins are my choice of potato because when I cook them, I leave the skin on. The skin is thin and filled with nutrients, fiber, b vitamins, iron and potassium, just to name a few.
What’s crazy is that half the fiber in this potato comes from the actual skin!!!
So leave that skin on, and get to cooking 🙂
Click here for the full recipe.
Try it out for yourself, and like I always say, my tastebuds and your tastebuds are different, so season it to taste!
When you make it, snap a pic and tag me on Instagram, #CookingWithQue.
Until next time, may your tastebuds be Forever Satisfied!

We Made It!!! #357VeganChallenge
Wow! We went through 7 days already!
I have been getting great feedback about the challenge! It’s great to see a simple idea change lives. I’ve lost 6.5 lbs. in the 7 day period and I wasn’t even trying to lose weight. We really are what we eat. Only being able to eat 1 heavy carb, like potatoes or pasta per day makes a difference, even with me already being a Vegan.
Now, my whole life’s goal is not to make everyone in the world a Vegan, but to cleanse your bodies of some of the toxins that get put into it without us even knowing. There is a reason Vegans have lower risk of cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, and so on. Its natures cures. Food in its natural state is the most effective medicine.
#FoodCravings, Are you listening to what your Body is telling you?
When your body gives you signals do you pay attention to them?
Do you know what they are?
I am a vegan and allergic to dairy (nice right?). I found out as an adult. I used to be sick all the time. The copays and hospital visits were driving me crazy!! When they found out that I had sarcoidosis, through a lung biopsy - It. Changed. Everything. On top of that they learned that multiple reactions were occurring due to an egg and dairy allergy. Do you know how many things have dairy in it? It was even in the pills that several doctors were prescribing. Now, I pay attention to everything. I read the labels. I pay attention to what I put inside of my body, I know when it's lacking something.

Alright fam,
It's been on my mind to say what everyone else is thinking.
It is absolutely NOT OK, to EAT LIKE CRAP
EAT TO LIVE!!!!
You are what you eat, and because of that I want to make it a point to give you the information that you need to begin. People make it complicated and it’s not. It is a Mindset. You have to see yourself eating differently. You actually have to make the effort. Know what you are buying at the grocery store. Know if you are drinking enough water. Are you listening to what your body is telling you?
Indoor BBQ? #NoProblem
Alright family, have you ever had a taste for something, but in the end you are missing one of the main ingredients?
Well, yesterday, it was me!!!
I wanted to grill everything! I mean everything! I wanted grilled carrots, grilled asparagus, grilled mushrooms, grilled corn, grilled veggie dogs, and grilled salmon for the meat-eaters in my house. I told you… ALL GRILLED EVERYTHING! As soon as I left work, I hit the grocery store and BOOM, I had a cart filled with all the items that I wanted.
